Experimental soul singer ayaka is releasing another new single after “Yume wo Mikata ni”, titled “Minna Sora no Shita”. The single will be released on July 8th, 2009, and will be used as the iamge song for ASCIENCE hair supplies. At the end of the year, most are speculating that ayaka will retire for a time, as she has both gotten married and, sadly, developed Grave’s Disease. Her husband, Hiro Mizushima, has said he will try to protect her from absolutely everything he can. What a great guy! ayaka and Hiro, please do your best and I wish you guys so much luck. I know, together, you two can make anything happen!

This is, essentially, the followup post to “Eternity’s River flows into the Top Ten”. The single continued to hold a steady position on the Oricon Daily Charts, ending off at #10 Sunday evening. Kuon no Kawa, surprisingly, had jumped 10-1 overnight, selling over 6,000 copies today. This is ridiculously impressive for alan. She’s never had a top 10 single before, and now she has a single which peaked at #1 daily and, according to Max Matsuura‘s blog, #3 weekly. Fantastic news. Congratulation alan, and I wish you luck in the future.

Alright, I’m sure we all probably know of either electro-pop trio Perfume or fallen-idol Ami Suzuki, correct? Both are the pet projects of electronic producer Yasutaka Nakata, a member of the group capsule. Well, then there’s Yasutaka Nakata’s bastard project, MEG. She has virtually no identity, as she is one of the most generic electronic artists to ever grace the halls of the j-pop realm. She has announced her new album, titled “Beautiful”, for release on May 27th. Anyway, the album will be a shitload. And you know what, it wouldn’t be so bad if she hadn’t worked with Hadouken. Her single with them was AMAZING, and this will honestly be total shit in comparison. Sorry for the unprofessionalism, but this is my honest opinion here. “FREAK” and “TOXIC” were just too awesome. I really hope she goes back to working with Hadouken.

The full song of “ROCK U” by the electronic group ravex featuring Namie Amuro has leaked onto the radio. This low-quality radio rip of the song shows what it’s all about. It’s very rave, it’s very Ami-Suzuki-Climb-Up-To-The-Top, and to be honest it’s not a very good song. It’s fun, but she’s basically screaming everything and there’s not much of a definable melody. I was expecting much more from this song, because after the amazing “BLACK DIAMOND” and “Luvotomy” I have pretty high hopes for her collaborations. Sadly, this was the supreme let-down.

ravex’s full debut album, “Trax”, which will contain this song along with collaborations from DJ Ozma, Tohoshinki/DBSK, Anna Tsuchiya, BoA, Maki Goto, and many more will be out on April 24th.

Hey, for our first edition of “Recommended Musics” we are trying to push a great somewhat new record titled “This Is The One“. Oh, you’ve heard of it? Oh, you’re a Hikki fan too? Well, good, that will make this a bit easier. This album is the breakout album for Utada is the states, and has already hailed one single which managed the Mediabase Top 100 and Billboard Pop 100 charts. That single is the albums 9th track, “Come Back To Me”. Other standout tracks on this album are the sad “This One (Crying Like A Child)” featuring minimalistic R&B sounds which nicely compliment the sorrowful lyrics of a girl who is in love with a musician. On top of that, there’s the somewhat naive, potential R&B hit “Apple & Cinnamon”.

The album is not all sad, though; With sultry songs like “Poppin’” (“Sexy stiletto pumps/tight jeans, no panties on/oops, did i turn you on?/I only came to party, party!”) and the overtly sexual “Dirty Desire” immediately grabs your attention with it’s catchy hooks (“Doin’ my 9 to 5, i’m thinkin’ 6 to 9″). Above all though, there’s also the gay-straight alliance anthem “On & On” with lyrics which can do nothing else but promote equality (Hunnies if you’re gay burn it up like a gay parade/Hunnies if you’re straight pump it up, take it all the way”). There are many more track on this hot album, which is one of the best i’ve heard in a lnog while. And don’t get me wrong–I’m not fan of R&B, but this album hit the nail on the head for me.

Fukuhara promoting her debut album 'Rainbow'

If you haven’t already familiarized yourself with the soulful Sapporo-born Miho Fukuhara, you better do it. She has one of the most powerful voice this generation has seen in a pop star, and her music quality is no less perfect. Her mostly self-penned sometimes-happy-sometimes-sad- all-poignant lyrics make her debut album, “Rainbow”, a rollercoaster of emotions that you can’t help but love. Soulful songs like “On Top of The World” and “Change” along with the more mellow, subtly destructive “Ice & Fire” and the tear-wrenching “Himawari” make this album by far the best debut album I’ve heard in all of my days. The album hailed two top 20 singles, “Change” and “Love ~Winter Song~”.

Now, the music gods have heard my prayers and she’s starting her second-coming, with her first single going towards a second album which will probably be due out sometime in late 2009 or early 2010, speculatively. The single, titled “Hanabi Sky” is due out on June 17th. Sony Music Entertainment is releasing ‘Sky’ in two formats, the norm in Japan. The CD+DVD edition will have the promotional video and possibly the makin-of clips.

Any further is currently unkown.

Eternity’s river flows into the top 10.

alan’s newest set, “久遠の河” (Kuon no Kawa, River of Eternity) debuted on the daily charts at the 9th position, where it had stayed for the following day. The third day, however, it fell to number 10. This though is still quite fantastic charting for out Tibetan-Chinese J-Pop single. These are a few comparisons for reference: Her only top 20 single prior to this was “懐かしい未来 ~longing future~” (Natsukashii Mirai ~longing future~) which peaked at a poor-in-comparison number 19 and sold a little over 10,000 copies. Her highest selling, however, is “RED CLIFF ~心・戦~” (Red Cliff ~Shin, Sen~; Red Cliff ~Heart, War~) which peaked at number 23 but managed to sell nearly 16,000 copies. Her debut album, “Voice of EARTH”, which came out earlier this year peaked at number 15 and sold 17,000 copies. alan’s “River” may become her first top 10 single yet.

In related news, alan’s next single has been announced for a release date of June 24th. Little information is known about the new single, which was announced to be a maxi. This will be her second single which came after “Voice of EARTH”. All of these releases were released under the avex trax record label in 2008 and 2009, so be sure to pick them up.
